WORSHIP NOTES
Friends, I want to share two exciting bits of news with you
concerning our worship services. The first is about our Lent series, and
the second is about church attendance.
Lent
2012
This year our Lent series is called ?See His
Cross!?Surprising Words from Our Savior's Passion.? This series will take
us from Jesus' arrest all the way to his crucifixion. Along the way we will
encounter some very surprising words and events that will impact us deeply.
These surprises will help our Lenten meditation be fresh, profound, and
applicable to life. And best of all, Jesus has promised that wherever and
whenever we gather together in his name, he is among us.
So plan now to join us for our Lenten worship, where our crucified and risen
Savior will meet us and renew his grace to us. Here you can find the
schedule and the themes for the services.
Worship services are at 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. The meal is served at 5:45 (info
about the meals is later in this newsletter).

Church Attendance Update
Beautiful Savior continues to grow and to reach out to more
people with the Good News of Jesus! One way we can observe the increase is
in church attendance numbers. From 2010 to 2011 our attendance rose from
324 per weekend to 370! This is more than an incredible 14% increase and is
a far greater percentage rise than any increase in recent history. This is
due in part to our continued growth and in part to our addition of the 4th
service, which has reached out to additional people and alleviated our
previous crowding problem, as we had hoped. You can see that average
attendance is solid in all of our services:
Sat 6:00pm - 56
Sun 8:00am - 84
Sun 10:30am - 109
Sun 10:45am - 115
We also finished the year on a strong note as we celebrated
our Savior's birth. We had 220 people at our Children's Christmas Program
and saw our largest Christmas Eve crowd ever at 614!
These
numbers cause us to rejoice, even as David rejoiced when God's people
eagerly went to worship. David declares in Psalm 122: ?I was glad when they
said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the LORD!'?
Yes,
we rejoice because wherever God works through his Word and Sacraments, an
increase of attendance means more life-changing Gospel touches. Thanks be
to God!
See
you in worship,
Pastor Jon
