Dear Family and
Friends:
I still remember
many of your faces at the first potluck you threw for me when I came
to visit in 2000. I also remember many of you at the 2000 LS Parks
and Rec. Softball League championship celebration that night in Brad
& Lynn Holmes’s backyard. As we rounded the corner of the then
President of the congregation, Pastor Schwartz turned to me and
said, “Here at Beautiful Savior we work hard, but we play hard,
too.” Although I did not know exactly what that meant at that time,
I knew I was going to like it here.
Well, over the last
10 years, there has been a lot of hard work and play. I have created
many life-long friendships, gained a wealth of knowledge, learned
what to do and what not do; I even was able to teach some of you a
thing or two. You entrusted me with your youth, allowed me to be a
part of our 2004/2005 FLC building project, and the start of a
preschool, just to name a few things. I have cried with you,
rejoiced with you, laughed with you, and mourned with you.
Beautiful Savior
Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit will never just be a place I once
lived. It is the place where I became a man, a husband, a father, a
brother, a leader, a follower, a friend and a DCE.
Heidi and our family will greatly miss all of you. We will miss your
unconditional love and generous support. We will miss your prayers
and uplifting words. We will miss those of you who adopted our
children, and the youth and children we adopted as our own.
In
His Mighty Grip,
Tim, Heidi, Avery, Landon, and Baby
Koehler :)
