Confirmation is a time of instruction designed to help our children identify with the life and mission of the Christian Church. The classes seek to help our children develop a close and meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, the confirmation process seeks to foster meaningful relationships between Christian students.
Confirmation instruction culminates in the public right of Confirmation. At that time, students make a personal public confession of faith and a lifelong pledge of fidelity to Jesus Christ.
Confirmation and Midweek classes begin Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.
We started Lent February which means we have shortened class periods (6:30-7:15). After Lent, we only have one full class period left before the end of the school year. In order to get everything in this year, we need to shift how we do things a bit. Each week I will be sending reading assignments home with students. Please make sure your student reads these assignments, and writes down any questions they have from the reading. We will then review what they read and have time for them to ask clarifying questions. This will allow us to move through the information a bit quicker during class.
The Reading assignment due for next week is: Catechism - Pages 147-173.
Also, as a reminder, each student needs to have 14 sermon notes turned in by April 1. Please take advantage of the upcoming midweek worship services on Wednesday nights, as well as Sunday morning services to make sure these notes are completed.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
