Advent Midweek Series – “The Word Became Flesh”
The words of John 1:1-18 are some of the most important words ever written—ever! They explode with light and brilliance, truth and grace. This portion of Scripture is full of dearly loved Advent and Christmas themes, with the most famous being, “The Word became flesh” (John 1:14). Historically, the fourth Gospel is likened to an eagle—an image suggesting that John soars to awesome heights of glory and grandeur. This Advent, get ready to fly as God’s grace lifts you up!”
Week 1, Dec. 6 – “You Have My Word” – John 1:1-5
Week 2, Dec. 13 – “A Man Named John” – John 1:6-9, 15
Week 3, Dec. 20 – “Chosen Children” – John 1:12
Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 – “The Word Dwelt among Us” – John 1:14
Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year! What a great day to celebrate that our Lord took on flesh and dwelt among us—the same day of the week His crucified body rose from the dead, and the same day we always gather to worship Him and rejoice in our salvation! The Board of Elders has set the following schedule based on what they anticipate will be the most desired worship options, mindful also of how much we will be asking our pastors to do. So mark your calendar and join us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!
