BOARD OF TRUSTEES REPORT
The Trustees have been very busy this past year with completing major projects and performing regular maintenance required to keep our facilities in good condition. Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church is important to all its members and to the many guests who visit us.
Several large projects have been completed during 2013:
Parking lot resurfacing and drainage improvement; added FLC wall acoustics; repaired FLC ceiling acoustics; roof repairs; office and basement restroom painting; replace light fixtures and ceiling tiles in basement; mowing, trimming, and landscape changes; ball diamond and bench upgrades; lawn equipment maintenance; just to name a few.
Several projects for 2014 will include:
Paint the narthex, hallways, basement, and other rooms in the church; paint the garage exterior; complete the restroom in the garage; update landscaping in Prayer Garden and other areas around the church grounds; update Youth patio area; miscellaneous plumbing repairs; maintain and repair on a regular basis. There has been an interest to install flagpole(s) to honor America and people who have served.
We have a tight budget and will be good stewards in completing our jobs responsibly.
We look for continued support of the congregation for the ongoing maintenance needs of our church facilities. We generally schedule Congregational Work Days on the first Saturday of each month but will adjust the schedule when conflicting with other activities (Upward, holidays, etc.). Church members are encouraged to help out whenever you can.
Next Congregational Work Days: March 1st (8:00 to Noon) and April 5th (8:00 to Noon; followed by a cookout for volunteers). There is a lot to do in preparation for Easter.
There are times when a few of us meet during the week to catch up on the list of maintenance items. If you wish to be added to that distribution list, contact Rick as noted below. Our deep appreciation goes out to those who have helped throughout the years.
Please contact Rick Chapman for volunteer opportunities.
