HOW WE GOT THE BIBLE
“How We Got the
Bible” considers the vast assemblage of documents forming the 66 books
of the Bible we have today. A mind-boggling 700,000 words are contained
in its 1,100 chapters. Originally penned in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek,
the books of the Bible have today been translated into a multitude of
languages the world over. Featuring Dr. Paul L. Maier, this video Bible
study series discusses the production, canonization, and inspiration
behind Scripture, which declares the forgiveness and salvation we have
through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jon will
lead the discussions that follow each video presentation. This class
will meet in the Sanctuary.
Crown Ministry’s “The
Treasure Principle Workshop”
In a
dramatic teaching style, this video workshop literally inspires those
who watch to learn more about their heavenly treasure in a way that
causes lasting change. Some Bible studies use guilt as a motivation for
proper Christian stewardship; this one doesn’t. Using video clips,
leader presentation, and small group discussions, participants will grow
in faith and in their faithful response. The pastors will teach this
class in the Family Life Center for six weeks, beginning January 10,
2010.
