BOLDLY SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST is our vision here at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.  We accept Jesus' Great Commission to go and make disciples of all people (Matthew 28:18-20).  We are a community of believers called by God to: Build relationships, Share Christ’s love, Live in God’s grace, Care for all people in need.

TELL THE NEXT GENERATION is our current theme, based on Psalm 78:4, which motivates us to appreciate the heritage of faith that has been handed down to us. It also motivates us to share that faith with all. We will Tell The Next Generation with our:

  • Vibrant Ministry
  • Courageous Witness
  • Faithful Legacy

Please pray:

A prayer of thanksgiving for the birth of a healthy girl to Jessica and Ryan Steigleder. Kenzie was born this past week. Mother and baby are doing well.

A prayer of thanksgiving for Amy Rowland, for successfully "kicking Cancer to the curb"! Amy had her post cancer tests and all tests revealed no signs of cancer and all vitals were positive. Thanks be to God for all the prayers, medical technology and healing!

Pray for the family of Jerry Schaefer, who passed away suddenly on Monday.  Pray that the family would have the peace of Christ that passes all understanding.

Many thanks to:

Thank you to Aaron Troester and George Horsey for always being there for us to manage our technical needs. They regularly spend their own time to make upgrade and fix issues. They spent many hours on Sunday getting the internet back online. Thank you for your time and expertise.

Thank you to Mitch Latimer for installing the bumpers around the playground. We appreciate your help.

Thank you once again to Derek and Lewis Bechtel for replacing indoor and outdoor faucets.

Thank you to all those who helped on the congregational work day. Thank you to Rich and Linda Peters who brought their wood chipper and to Seth Hanebutt, who hauled off 2 loads of brush that couldn’t go through the wood chipper. Thank you as well to Devin and Naomi Burmeister, Brad Holmes, Ben Lampe, Dennis Davis, Bill Lang and Rick Chapman.

“Well done, good and faithful servants”

If you would like to nominate someone who has given of their time or talents to the Glory of God here at Beautiful Savior, please help us recognize them. Send their name and information about their service to Lisa at office@beautifulsavior-lsmo.org

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be providing more online resources for Children’s Ministry! We’ll be updating the Children’s Ministry tab on the church website over the next few weeks with links to resources, like videos, crafts, games, activities and devotions. We’ll post an update in the bulletin, Weekly News and on the church Facebook page once everything has been finalized on the Children’s Ministry website tab! This week’s resource is a printable table topics document for fun, family conversations! Some of the table topic questions are: If you had one wish what would it be, would you rather live in the future or the past, and what is your favorite game to play. The article includes a few directions and tips as well! Click the link to access this resource!

Sunday School and Adult Bible Classes will be restarting on Sunday, August 23. More information will be coming soon. And if you’re interested in helping, please contact Erika Troester!

Midweek & Confirmation - Our target date for Midweek and Confirmation is September 9th from 6:30 to 8:00. We will have more information in the coming weeks as we learn more about current county guidelines.

Did our online worship change recently? I thought we used to have words on the screen and different camera angles? In a word, yes, it changed. But with a little help it can go back to the better way! Pastor Jon was spending quite a bit of time making the online worship as good as it possibly could be, but that is difficult to maintain in the long run, especially as we have more in-person ministry happening. Recording the service is no problem, but editing a service so it is the best it can be takes time. If you can edit video and are willing to help on Saturday night, please talk to Pastor Jon or email him at pastorjon@beautifulsavior-lsmo.org. The task would include some or all of the following: cropping video, splicing multiple videos, adding text to the screen, adjusting volumes, and uploading videos to Facebook and YouTube. Thank you in advance!

Abounding Love’s 10 Year Celebration is this October 3, 2020! This event is key in getting scholarships to families in need, and expanding educational opportunities to our students. We need you there. We have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the evening in the Lutheran High School of KC gym. Tickets go on sale August 30th. Tickets are $35 a piece or sponsorships are available. Sponsorships offer reserved tables and many, many extras. Silver Sponsorships are $100 for 2 tickets, 10 raffle tickets and a thank you gift. Gold Sponsorships are $250 for 4 tickets, 24 raffle tickets, and a thank you gift. Platinum sponsorships are $500 for a reserved table of 8, 16 raffle tickets, wine, a thank you gift and preferred check-out.  Talk with Katherine Palmer if you questions or donations to add to the event.

How can I give my offering? You have many options even if you are not yet attending worship in person.
-You can mail us a check. (BSLC 615 SE Todd George Parkway Lee’s Summit, MO 64063)
-You can use your bank’s online bill pay service, setting up the church as if we were a company or person that you want to pay.
-You can contact the church office for more information on “Joyful Response,” which is a service that can automatically deduct your offering.
-Or, you may use our website donation option (though this is not ideal for reoccurring offerings because of the fees; please consider clicking the option to cover processing fees.
